6WIND Licensed Network Functions
6WIND VSR with Megaport’s MVE offers four distinct licensed network functions:
-
Virtual Border Router (vBR) – The Border Router product facilitates efficient interconnection between different network segments especially in geographically dispersed areas, with hyperscalers, or connectivity to Internet Exchange services, or upstream service providers. It ensures that data traffic is routed efficiently, reducing latency and improving overall network performance. For more information, see the 6WIND vBR Datasheet.
-
Virtual Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (vCGNAT) – As IPv4 addresses become increasingly scarce, the vCGNAT router plays a vital role in extending the life of these addresses by allowing multiple users to share a single public IP address. This not only ensures seamless service continuity but also enhances network security by hiding internal IP addresses from external threats. 6WIND vCGNAT supports NAT44 (Ipv4 to IPv4) and NAT64 (IPv6 to IPv4) with DNS64 (DNS conversion from IPv4 to IPv6). For more information, see the 6WIND vCGNAT Datasheet.
-
Virtual Security Gateway (vSecGW) – Virtualized Security Gateway (vSecGW) provides comprehensive, highly scalable and network-integrated Layer 3 IPsec-based VPN connectivity. The vSecGW functionality can be applied to any type of network traffic in fixed, wireless, and converged environments. This allows either site to site IPsec services, or to act as a VPN concentrator for remote user connectivity to Megaport services. For more information, see the 6WIND vSecGW Datasheet.
-
Virtual L3/L4 Firewall (vFW) – The vFW product offers robust protection against a wide range of cyber threats, ensuring that the network remains secure without compromising performance. With advanced filtering and monitoring capabilities, the Firewall helps operators and enterprises meet stringent regulatory requirements while safeguarding customer and/or internal data. For more information, see the 6WIND vFW Datasheet.
