Megaport Project Services provides end-to-end consulting, project management, and implementation services for complex, large-scale, or long-term infrastructure initiatives. The Megaport Advanced Services team manages the engagement from start to finish, while delivery is carried out by Megaport’s certified partner ecosystem, bringing specialized expertise across networking, cloud, security, and related technologies.

What’s included?

Project Services provides the technical expertise and project management capabilities required for large-scale infrastructure transformations. These engagements help organizations plan, implement, and transition from legacy environments to modern cloud and network architectures.

Megaport Project Services has these inclusions:

  • Auditing and design – Comprehensive assessment of your existing network environment, including asset discovery, architecture analysis, and the development of High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).

  • Strategic planning – Development of implementation plans, resource allocation strategies, phased delivery schedules, risk mitigation measures, and migration procedures designed to minimize operational disruption.

  • Full-stack expertise – Access to specialized engineering expertise across Megaport services, Cloud Service Provider (CSP) networks, physical and virtual infrastructure, and supporting third-party technologies.

  • End-to-end management – Dedicated project management and stakeholder coordination to oversee project execution, manage dependencies, and help ensure delivery against agreed timelines and budgets.

Megaport Project Services delivery framework

To help ensure project success, Megaport provides delivery oversight throughout the engagement, coordinating both the commercial and technical aspects of the project between your organization and our certified partner network.

This Megaport-led model operates through three core pillars:

  • Curated partner matching – Megaport maintains a network of certified integration partners with expertise across a range of technologies and services. Based on your project requirements, Megaport identifies and engages the partner best suited to deliver the required technical outcomes.

  • Joint architecture scoping – Megaport Technical Account Managers (TAMs) act as technical advisors throughout the discovery phase. Megaport facilitates collaborative scoping workshops with your organization and our partners to translate business and technical requirements into a clearly defined and actionable statement of work.

  • Program governance – Throughout the project lifecycle, a TAM provides ongoing technical oversight and coordination between your organization and the partner delivery team. Megaport works with key stakeholders to manage project milestones, address evolving requirements, and help ensure successful project delivery.

Requesting Project Services

Megaport Project Services can be requested using these options in the Portal.

Option 1: During the service ordering process

Use this method to request Project Services from the Megaport Advanced Services team while ordering your Megaport services.

To request Project Services while ordering

  1. After configuring your new Megaport services, click Review Order to proceed to the Checkout screen.

  2. In the Would you like to engage our Advanced Services team to implement your solution? field, choose Yes.
    This opens a text window where you can describe your project needs. Checkout

  3. In the text field, enter a description of your specific project requirements. To help ensure an efficient review, include:

    • A high-level summary of the broader project or program of works you require assistance with.
    • The specific types of expertise needed for your project. For example, network and security auditing, strategic design, architectural planning, deployment implementation, or dedicated project management.
    • A breakdown of the Megaport services and non-Megaport infrastructure involved across your physical, virtual, and cloud ecosystems.
    • The business objective and technical outcome required for a successful project completion. Text box

    Note

    Submitting a Project Services request automatically creates a ticket that is sent to a Megaport Technical Account Manager (TAM) for review. You do not need to wait for a response before completing your transaction and can proceed with your service order immediately. A TAM will contact you shortly afterwards to review your requirements and discuss next steps.

Option 2: Via Help & Support

Use this method to request Project Services from the Megaport Advanced Services team as a standalone request, separate from the service ordering process.

To request Project Services as a standalone request

  1. Log in to the Megaport Portal.

  2. Choose the Help & Support icon.

  4. In the text field, enter a description of your specific deployment and project requirements. To help ensure an efficient review, include:

    • A high-level summary of the broader project or program of works you require assistance with.
    • The specific types of expertise needed for your project. For example, network and security auditing, strategic design, architectural planning, deployment implementation, or dedicated project management.
    • A breakdown of the Megaport services and non-Megaport infrastructure involved across your physical, virtual, and cloud ecosystems.
    • The business objective and technical outcome required for a successful project completion. Advanced Services Request
  5. Click Submit Request.

Submitting a Project Services request automatically creates a ticket that is sent to a Megaport Technical Account Manager (TAM) for review. A TAM will contact you shortly afterwards to review your requirements and discuss next steps.

Engagement process

After you submit a Project Services request, the engagement follows a structured delivery process.

  1. Consultation and discovery – A Megaport TAM will lead a discovery workshop with your team to discuss your project objectives, validate technical requirements, understand timelines and scheduling, and gather the information needed to define the project scope.

  2. Partner matching and scoping – Using Megaport’s Curated Partner Matching process, Megaport identifies and introduces the certified integration partner best suited to your project requirements. Your Megaport TAM then leads collaborative scoping sessions with your team and the partner to define the project scope, delivery phases, resource requirements, key milestones, and statement of work.

  3. Review and contracting – Once the technical scope has been validated, your Megaport TAM provides a Statement of Work (SOW) for your review. The SOW outlines the agreed scope of work, deliverables, pricing, and applicable terms and conditions.

  4. Project mobilization – Upon execution of the SOW, the engagement formally begins. Your Megaport TAM schedules the project kickoff meeting, brings together key stakeholders from your organization and the partner delivery team, and initiates project activities under Megaport’s governance framework.
