NAT Gateway Pricing and Contract Terms
When you create a Megaport NAT Gateway (NAT Gateway), the Megaport Portal displays the monthly cost (before tax) on a Summary page before you confirm the order. The price is based on the selected maximum concurrent sessions and the rate limit.
When you deploy a NAT Gateway, cost accrual begins immediately. In the Megaport Portal, you can make the following changes to pay-as-you-go or long-term contracts that are on standard pricing:
-
New NAT Gateway – Select No Minimum Term to pay-as-you-go, or select a 12, 24, 36, 48, or 60-month minimum term, billed monthly. The default term is 12 months. The term starts when you place the order. For more information about creating a NAT Gateway, see Creating a NAT Gateway.
Longer contract terms have these benefits:
- Fixed monthly cost.
- Discounts based on the term duration. For example, a 24-month term has a 5% discount and a 36-month term has a 10% discount.
Enable the Minimum Term Renewal option for services with a 12, 24, 36, 48 or 60-month term to automatically renew the contract at the same discounted price and term length at the end of the contract. If you don’t renew the contract, at the end of the term, the contract will automatically roll over to month-to-month contract for the following billing period, at the same price, without term discounts.
-
Existing NAT Gateway on a minimum term – Renew a 12, 24, 36, 48, or 60-month minimum term, extend to a longer term, or shorten the term. You can extend a minimum term at any time; however, you can only shorten it during the last calendar month of the term.

-
Existing contract term – Upgrade a contract term at any time.
-
Expired NAT Gateway term – Renew a term contract after it has expired.
Note
To provide adequate time to extend or renew the NAT Gateway contract, Megaport will notify you via email 1 month ahead of the term expiration and 1 week before a price change.
Changing a contract term
In the Portal, you can make the following changes:
- Add a term to a NAT Gateway.
- Extend the term on an existing NAT Gateway contract.
- Renew a term in the final 30 days of a NAT Gateway contract, before the term expires.
After changing an existing term, the new term begins immediately.
Note
Not all contract terms can be changed in the Portal (the option will be grayed out). Contact your Megaport Account Manager for more information.

NAT Gateway pricing
Megaport charges a recurring monthly flat fee based on the NAT Gateway provisioned services consumed hourly in the course of the previous month.
The NAT Gateway service is priced by the rate limit and the maximum concurrent sessions, and both limits are fixed for the life of the service. When you order a NAT Gateway, you select the maximum concurrent sessions, then the rate limit:
| Session Count | Rate Limits in Gbps |
|---|---|
| 250,000 | 1, 2.5, 5, and 10 |
| 500,000 | 10 and 25 |
| 1,000,000 | 10, 25, and 50 |
| 2,500,000 | 10, 25, 50, and 100 |
| 5,000,000 | 10, 25, 50, and 100 |
| 10,000,000 | 10, 25, 50, and 100 |
Note
After you select the NAT Gateway maximum concurrent sessions and rate limit, you cannot change it.
For more information, see NAT Gateway Billing.
Cancellation
You can cancel a NAT Gateway at any time. Canceling a NAT Gateway on a contract term will result in an early termination fee (ETF) equivalent to 100% of the remainder of the term. For more information, see Terminating a NAT Gateway.
