Single Sign-On (SSO) Features and Instructions for Use

If Customer enables the Single Sign-On authentication feature (“SSO”), and Customer’s Administrator enforces SSO, then the users of the Megaport Portal must comply with the following.

  • Single Sign-On: By setting up SSO you are allowing Megaport Portal users on your account to authenticate to the Megaport Portal (Portal) through a third-party identity provider (IdP) instead of a Megaport held username and password. If SSO is enforced by a Company Admin, all Portal users will be required to log in using their third-party IdP credentials. If a Company Administrator switches off SSO or Megaport no longer provides SSO, then the Portal users will be required to set up a Megaport password to log in. In the event that the Third Party IdP is not configured correctly, or not responding, a Company Administrator can use a username and password to access the Portal via the login help screen.

  • Compatibility: Megaport currently supports SSO using SAML 2.0 standards. Megaport reserves the right to change or update the available authentication standards used giving the standard notice periods applicable to your GSA/GRA.

  • Third-Party Identity Providers (IdP): SSO allows customers to connect and use Third-Party IdP products, services, or software to log in to the Portal. Customers are limited to integration with one IdP per Portal account. To enable SSO, users may be required to sign up or log into the services of the IdP on its respective website or application.

  • Multi Factor Authentication (MFA): Customers may enforce MFA on their IdP if it is a supported feature. If MFA is also enforced on the Portal a user will be required to enter an additional token to gain access to the Portal.

  • Confidentiality: Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of passwords and user accounts, including the setting up of SSO and the configuration of IdP. SSO may not suit all accounts and you should evaluate the suitability of SSO for your purposes. Megaport will not be liable if a customer sets up SSO and an unauthorised person gets access to your Megaport account as a result of, or in connection with the integration with the IdP.

  • Privacy: The Third-Party IdP may process personal information about users. Megaport does not receive any new personal information from the IdP, nor do we share any personal information with the IdP. Users should review the IdP’s website for their Privacy Policy and any terms and conditions on using their service.

  • Availability: The availability of SSO may depend on the availability of these Third-Party IdP services and their features and functionality. Megaport does not control Third-Party IdP service features and functionality, and they may change without any notice to us. If any Third- Party Service stops providing access to some or all features or functionality, we may stop providing access to the Portal. If your IdP is not responding you should contact your company IT administrator or IdP provider to troubleshoot the fault. Megaport will not be liable to you for any refunds or any damage or loss arising from or in connection with any such change or outage of the Third-Party IdP.
