All participating networks must maintain an accurate and up-to-date profile on PeeringDB. Completing and maintaining your PeeringDB entry is mandatory before you submit peering requests with Extreme IX.
Key requirements
Before you request peering, confirm that your profile meets these requirements:
- IRR AS-SET object — Declare an active IRR AS-SET/route-set object in your PeeringDB network profile for automated Route Server filtering.
- Allow IXP Update permission — Enable the Allow IXP Update option in your PeeringDB settings. This lets Extreme IX automation maintain accurate port status and IP assignments.
- Up-to-date contact information — Keep your peering contacts (NOC email, phone, and technical contacts) accurate.
Add Extreme IX to your PeeringDB profile
To register your presence at an Extreme IX exchange location (for example, Extreme IX Delhi):

Go to peeringdb.com and log in with your account credentials.

Open your network profile by selecting your organization from the profile menu in the upper-right corner, or search for your Autonomous System Number (ASN) in the search bar.

Click Edit on the right side of your network entry page.

In the Public Peering Exchange Points section, type
Extreme IX in the Exchange field, then select your local exchange location (for example, Extreme IX Delhi) from the drop-down list.
If your Extreme IX location does not appear in the drop-down list, contact the Extreme IX Operations team.

Complete the required technical details for your connection:
- Assigned IP address — Your provisioned IPv4 address, IPv6 address, or both, on Extreme IX.
- Port Speed — Your allocated interface bandwidth (for example, 1G, 10G, 100G).
- Route Server — Select this check box if you peer with the Extreme IX Route Servers.

Confirm that your IRR AS-SET is populated and that Allow IXP Update is enabled, then click Save.
