# Extreme IX Status Page Subscription

> This help topic describes how to subscribe to maintenance and outage alerts on the Extreme IX status page.

We recommend that all members subscribe to automated updates on the Extreme IX status page. Subscribing ensures that your operations and NOC teams receive alerts about scheduled maintenance, fiber cuts, or regional platform disruptions.

## Status page incident categories

The status portal categorizes incidents into two areas:

* **Peering updates** -- Content provider issues, traffic disruptions, or third-party maintenance activities that are independent of Extreme IX infrastructure.
* **Network updates** -- Operational issues that directly affect Extreme IX core infrastructure, including local network outages, switch degradation, optical fiber cuts, and planned maintenance windows.

## Subscribe to maintenance and outage alerts

To configure location-specific email notifications:

1. Go to the [Extreme IX status page](https://status.extreme-ix.org/).
2. Click **Subscribe to Updates** at the top right of the page.
3. Select the **Email** tab and enter your NOC or operations team email address.
4. Click **Select Services**, then select only the exchange locations (for example, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai) where your network has an active presence. This prevents alerts for locations outside your footprint.
5. Click **Subscribe**.

Extreme IX sends a confirmation link to your email address. Click the link to start your subscription.
